How To Get Your Florida Drivers License
Step 1: TLSAE Course
Also know as the Drug & Alcohol course or Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education Course. This is the first step in obtaining a license if you have never had a license in any other state or country. This 4 Hour course can be completed online at any age.
Step 2: Permit Test
Once you’ve completed the TLSAE Course, you’ll need to pass your permit test. This includes the Road Signs and Road Rules Test. We have practice tests available to see if you’re ready for the actual test!
Step 3: Practice Driving
Florida requires all teen driver’s under 18 to accumulate 50 hours of experience behind the wheel under the supervision of a licensed adult 21 or over prior to taking the Road Test. For help with learning to drive, check out our driving lesson plans!
Step 4: Pass the Road Test
The final step to getting your license. Once you’ve accumulated the 50 hours of experience, you’ll be ready for your Road Test.
